الملخص الإنجليزي

-This study aimed at evaluating risk management procedures and their impact on the effectiveness of Jordanian Commercial Banks (JCBs) from the perspective of the employees' of risk management departments.

In order to achieve that, this study developed and tested a model that include preventive procedures, remedial procedures, early warning, damage control and activity regaining as independent variables and the effectiveness of JCBs as a dependent variable.

All employees of RM department were selected from 12 JCBs.

260 questionnaires were distributed, 234 questionnaires were collected, and 230 questionnaires were appropriate for analysis.

The findings indicate that two of the independent variables (preventive procedures, early warning) have an impact on the effectiveness of JCBs.

On the other hand, three variables (remedial procedures, damage control and activity regaining) have no impact.

Some practical recommendations are provided and recommendation for additional research was suggested.
