الملخص الإنجليزي

Design, machining, inspection are three main area instigators of any new product in industry.

The integration of these areas gives fruitful steps in direction CIM.

The aim of this research is to integrate design, machining, inspection activities.

The inspection, machining path planning and execution are accomplished by basing STEP standard file (design file) to achieve in-process inspection.

In-process inspection is implemented by On-Machine Measurement (OMM) system which makes it possible to carry out measuring process directly on the CNC machining center by changing a cutting tool with a measuring probe.

In this research ; an algorithm to integrate CAD system into CAPP / CAI system through specify types, coordinate and dimensions of machining / inspection features for planner rotational parts were proposed.

This algorithm was based on extraction coordinate of part profile from STEP file (ISO 10303, part 21) and using three methods (syntactic primitive recognition, Sweeping operation (Denavit-Hartenburg (DH)) and logic rule) feature recognition to determine different types of cylindrical, step and slot features.

Different proposed algorithms are used in this research to implement Machining / inspection planning activities.

First ; an algorithm for determining and distributing inspection points on feature faces after specifying radius of probe tip.

Second ; an algorithm for collision avoidance between probe and edges of feature is also determined by calculated distance between face boundaries for each feature.

Third; an algorithm for the modeling of robotics space configurations to access or reach feature inspection points based on the similarity between modeling of robot space configuration and OMM configurations (spherical robot arm and rotating and tilting probe, Cartesian robot arm and straight probe).

Fourth ; built algorithm for determine shortest local inspection path planning to different types of machining / inspection features.

Finally ; an algorithm for feature machining sequence algorithm for rough machining sequence is determined by relying on two rules of precedence constraint (Maximum diameter and tolerance base) is proposed.

But the feature machining sequence in the finish cycle is achieved sequentially.

After Every Operation (AEO) technique was used to enter inspection item into rough and finish machining sequences lead to get in-process inspection.

G-code generation for rough and finish cycle which is appropriate to CNC machining center was also achieved.
