الملخص الإنجليزي

Linear Induction Motor (LIM) is a non-conducting, high speed, linear motion operating on the same principles of rotary induction motors.

It has wide applications in industry, such as transportation, conveys systems, actuators, material handling, and pumping of liquid metal. Several analytical techniques have been used to investigate, analyze, and optimize the operation of this type of induction motor. ANSYS software package is developed to be used for the modeling and simulating of LIM model using finite element method (FEM).

The analysis model is represented by Its material properties in each part and then a two and three dimensional solutions are prepared. Linear and nonlinear analyses are presented where ferromagnetic material parts are Imposing constant relative permeability for linear analysis, while for nonlinear analysis, a B-H curve is performed for these material parts. Design program based on an equivalent circuit approach is considered to design and develop the geometry dimensional details of LlM models with different operating conditions.

The developed design program is implemented by considering the effects of rotor plate thickness, speed, air gap dimension, And number of poles as main design parameters. The simulated results of FEPv in two and three dimensions are field quantities distributions inside the model where contour and vector plotting for both nodal and element solutions are used to depict and.

display these field quantities. The effects of varying, geometry dimensions of rotor plate thickness, air gap dimension, stator yoke, and rotor back iron are studied iising first order optimization method.

In this method, the constrained problem 1 transformed into unconstrained one via Interior penalty functions.

The optimization processes is aimed reducing rotor plate thickness, rotor back depth, stator yoke depth, and air gap dimension to certain acceptab its, which achieved the design requirements.

The results appears significant reduction in the .geometry dimensions of the proposed models.
