الملخص الإنجليزي

The single component and multi-component hydroxide precipitation and adsorption wet* studied for different heavy meals namely iron Chromium iron (III), Copper (H), Lead (11), Nickel (II), and Cadmium (II) from aqueous solutions.

Magnesia (MgO) was used as a precipitator at different doses and compared with other chemicals like lime (CaO) and caustic soda wash).

Industrial wastewaters from local state textile industry (Al-Khadimia Textile Co.) and from the General Company for Vegetable Oil Industries-AUAmcen Soap Plant as well as aqueous prepared solutions of color dyes and metals was subjected to simple physic o-C-liemka I treatment.

The effect of pollutants con central ions, magnesia and other coagulants doses, temperature, filtration rale and the overall run time on the water quality were studied in detail.

The treatment involves the addition of either magnesia 01 I line-water suspensions (combined with CPE) in various doses, 0.1-1.0 g / 1 to the wastewater and colored samples, and 1.0—5.0 g / I for die meta! samples to study the effect of varying does on the treatment efficiency.

The result? show that tire percent removal of metal ions increases to about 99 % with increasing the MgO ease to some limits.

The optimum values of MgO doses were- found to be CL2-0.4 g / I and 1.5-3.0 for synthetic colored and metal stamps, Poses of 0.05-0.2 g / 1 were the best for industrial wastewater.

The removal efficiency of all the pollutants m the different samples increases to more than 95% by increasing the pH values lo the range of 9.5 to 10 with MgO coagulant and pi I of 11.5 to 12 with CaO coagulant.

In their experiments the rotation speed, N, of 120-140 rpm, (G of 220 - 280 s"1) for We-minutes was the most favorable speed, of coagulation mixing for industrial waters and 180-200 rpm, (G of 46G-480 s"3) for heavy metal samples, For flocculation, the mixing speed of 35-40 rpm, (G of 40-45 s"1} gave the best removal.
