الملخص الإنجليزي

This work presenting a multimode wireless communication receiving system based on the Independent Component Analysis (ICA) for blind estimation, and detection different types of communication signals for different wireless channel conditions. The estimation process is performed based upon the received observation signals only, without prior information about the original signals or about the propagation channel. Conventional methods estimate these signals by taking into account the prior information about the signals and about the propagation channel, this is usually done using the training sequences, which usually costs a bandwidth. For blindly separation and detection the digital Binary Phase Shift Keying (BPSK) signals over quasi-stationary and time varying fading channel, the multimode receiving system (Model 1) is proposed. The specification of the wireless multimode system (Model 2) based on (ICA) is given for blindly separation and detection two types of communication signals, Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) based on IEEE802.11a standard and Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) based on the 3G digital cellular telephony system, which combines high data rate from WLAN and high mobility from the telephony system in just a single device.

The ICA receiver adopting Fast-ICA, Joint Approximate Diagonalization of Eigen-matrices (JADE), and Optimum Block Adaptation ICA (OBA-ICA) algorithms for blind signal estimation process for different channel conditions.

An approach based on the minimization of Euclidean distance between the received observation signals and the estimated signals is investigated for solving the inherent ambiguity problems of the ICA algorithms. A performance comparison of these algorithms had been done and the simulation results are analyzed.

The results show that t he multimode receiving system based on ICA is capable of blindly estimation of the received signals.

The multimode receiving system (Model 2) based on OBA-ICA algorithm had a better separation performance than Fas¬-ICA algorithm by about (3 dB), and by about (5 dB) over JADE algorithm for BER of (10-4) for (30 user) WCDMA system blindly signal detection over time varying fading channel for channel speed parameter of (A = 0.1).
