الملخص الإنجليزي

The aim of this work is the improvement of the database system of the Iraqi National Control Center by adopting the facilities of the Geographic Information System (GIS), ARC / INFO (Architecture Information) method, reaching the AM / FM (Automated Mapping / Facilities Management) solution so as to obtain an ideal control system for controlling and monitoring the electrical network.

There are three parts concerned in this diesis.

The first part concentrates on studying the modern system the GIS, including its components, properties, tools, topology, networks and the electrical application. The second part is concerned with the study of the frame and the functions of the control system in the Iraqi National Control Center. The last part deals with the application of the AM'TM'GIS solution on part of the Iraqi Electrical network (the super grid network-4Q0kV network).

This part consists of three steps : The digitizing of the project base map, which means the beginning of building the geographic information database including the topology and the attribute tables (related to electrical formation). Tile conversion of the load flow package from an off-line application into an operator load flow by using the dS ability to automate the analysis process. The power flow in the network under consideration have been studied then the problems that the network suffering from were assigned' However, the suggestions for solving these problems were introduced using GIS facilities.
