الملخص الإنجليزي

This study aims at verifying the explanatory power of the Economic Margin on the stocks excess return (alpha) applied on a sample of twenty Jordanian industrial firms listed at the Amman Stock Exchange for the period of six years. Seemingly-Unrelated Regression model analysis is used to test the hypotheses of the study.

The dependent variable is excess return (alpha) which was calculated using Capital Asset Pricing Model, and the independent variable is the Economic Margin which was calculated using the Applied Finance Group formula.

The log of firm's assets was used as a control variable in order to take in consideration the size Results indicate the existence of significant relationship between these two variables and the presence of positive Economic Margin causes excess stock return.
