الملخص الإنجليزي

E-government information systems are rapidly being adopted by a wide spectrum of developed and developing countries and have become a world phenomenon.

Jordan as a developing country has early accepted the challenge of adopting e-government.

This study aimed to examine citizens’ attitudes towards e-government in Jordan in terms of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, cognitive factors, social forces, and socio-demographic factors.

TAM2 model was used as a framework to identify the association among study variables.

The study has adopted the quantitative approach (A cross sectional web-based online survey), with a total of 724 responses from a wide range of public, private, and civil society organizations in Jordan.

Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and SPSS AMOS 20 statistical approaches were used to analyze the data.

A good fit of the hypothesized model was achieved.

The main findings indicated that Jordanians have positive attitudes toward e-government Information systems.

The socio-demographic variables were significantly correlated with perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, cognitive factors, and social forces, reflecting a clear mediation effects.

The study revealed that there is a necessity to take into account the disparity in the relative importance of main constructs, namely the perceptions for ease of use and usefulness, and both of the cognitive and social factors.

Attention should be paid to the impact of the mediation affected by the socio-demographic variables, through each of which new groups could be drown with a completely different significant perceptions.

Policy-makers can benefit from study findings to prepare citizens to successfully improve their utilization to the e-government.
