Competing in the information age and being in a wired world, pushing the business hard towards achieving strategic alignment between business and Information technology, there is no time for misalignment in the incoming centuries.
Based on an in depth literature review, this research will investigates the Business -IT strategic alignment maturity in the Jordanian banking industry the “AS” situation, and the impact of the informative organization structure ''Model" proposed in this research on the strategic alignment maturity and does it overcome the business- information technology strategic alignment dilemma, and provide new generation leaders to govern the information age? To achieve the above research objectives the researcher used a quantitative structured interview method as a data collection method, the data collected was interpreted, analysed and discussed and concluded.
The following is the main conclusions : The strategic alignment maturity level in the Jordanian Banking Industry on average at (3.11 out of (5), it is the level 3 “Established, Focused Processes” referring to (Liftman Strategic Alignment Maturity Level)”, At this level, Jordanian Banks already have an integrated vision, where senior managers understand the business and also the IT as an emerging component to the organization.
The influence of ''informative organization structure'' model leverage the strategic alignment maturity level up to (4.72 out of 5) the level 4 “Improved, Managed Processes”'' close to maturity, this considered as a positive indicator to overcome the strategic alignment maturity between business and information technology, also it pays attention and give specific care to apply the informative organization structure in different organizations to provide informative leaders for the incoming centuries, in order to sustain aligned and enhance the Organizations / banks performance In addition, the research recommends evaluating the “informative organization structure model in different organization structures, IT structures and industries.
The researcher also recommends that; the universities colleges needs to lead the change to face the information age and 21th and above centuries, through restudying the universities courses in both Business and information technology field in order to consider new topics needed for the new generations to minimize or overcome the alignment gabs between business and IT students, who will be the future leaders.
