الملخص الإنجليزي

Non-Functional Requirements elicitation has been, and is still being, considered as a problematic area in spite of all the developments in the Information Technology discipline.

New paradigm that has emerged recently is the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is in bad need of a framework addressing this problem in the world of software engineering.

Elicitation techniques have been developed over the past decades to respond to new needs of software requirements either in generic approach or in customized manner.

Several quality models have been developed since 1970 and onward to address the issue of non-functional requirements (NFRs) elicitation using various approaches towards helping developments teams eliciting NFRs in structured manner.

In the new area of SOA, the development teams are facing the problem of having more than one web service matching the functional requirements but it is not clear to what extent each web service is meeting the users’ NFRs.

This thesis suggests a framework that helps stakeholders deciding the best web service to be selected among other web services based on its NFRs using 5W1H technique assuming that every selected web service is fully matching the functional requirements.

The basic idea in the thesis is to mix 5W1H questions within the main stages of the web service selection process to discover realistic values of NFRs.

Based on the previous result ; the concerned stakeholders will be in a position to best-select the service.
