الملخص الإنجليزي

This thesis has investigated new computational methods for retrieval optimization by Arabic text documents; instead of migrating methods used in other languages.

So far we have studied the rationale behind Information Retrieval from Arabic linguistics; and a fully improved computational framework as well.

We have used a developed taxonomy for Arabic information retrieval system; which has mainly new prospective for an Arabic data organization; and also provided excellent solutions for Arabic-IR system by means of emerging both Arabic linguistics and knowledge base system methods.

We have applied expert system methods for optimizing the performance of the Arabic-IR new model in documents classification and searching as well as documents retrieving.

A special stemmer has been constructed to be used for stemming words in Modern Standard Arabic.
