الملخص الإنجليزي
In this work, the problem of harmonic oscillator with fractional damping force is studied using numerical techniques.
The Caputo fractional derivative is used to define the damping force.
The solutions for distinct values of α between the extreme cases α = 0, which represents no damping, and α = 1, which represents the prototype damping, are plotted and compared.
It is found that there is a gradual transition as the value of α is increased from 0 to 1, and all the curves are confined between these two extreme cases.
