الملخص الإنجليزي
-Wireless networked control systems have begun to get acceptance during the last ten years, due to their flexibility and lower cost.
The reluctance of industry to allow wireless paths to be incorporated in process control loops has limited the potential applications and benefits of wireless systems.
The problem is that there are conflicts between maintaining the performance of a control loop, which is degraded by slow data rates and delays in a wireless path, and the objectives in managing a wireless sensor network.
To overcome this conflict, our thesis presents an application–level design method for a wireless sensor/actuator network (WSAN) based on the “automated architecture”.
The resulting WSAN system is used in the developing of a WDCS (Wireless Distributed Control System).
The implementation of our wireless system involves the building of a WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) with its TinyOS (Tiny Operating System) for sensing (data acquisition) and CAN (Controller Area Network) protocol field bus system for plant actuation.
The embedded software of the CAN controller nodes is written in C language while the wireless sensor nodes of the WSN are programmed with software models written in nesC (network embedded system C) language.
The designed field bus mode is a master/slave hierarchy and connected as a daisy-chain.
The sensor/actuator system is controlled by an intelligent digital control algorithm that involves a controller structure developed with velocity PID algorithm to satisfy the bumpless transfer and the anti-windup concepts needed for manual/auto operating aspect.
This controller structure is developed as a fuzzy neural network (FNN) learned by a learning algorithm based on back-propagation.
The concept of Petri net is inserted in the FNN to get a relation between the error at the input of the controller and the number of rules of the fuzzy-neural controller leading to a reduction in the number of fired rules.
The resultant controller is called RFNPN (Robust Fuzzy Neural Petri Net) controller which created as a software model developed with MATLAB.
Finally all the system has been managed by a GUI (Graphical User Interface) window designed for monitoring, set point changing, PID tuning, and control with two types: PID control system faceplate, and RFNPN control system faceplate.
With each one of the control systems, the manual/auto mode is added.
The plant adopted as a case study is a water bath to satisfy a temperature control.
Real-time experimental results are obtained for the two systems with the two modes of operation.
The effect of disturbance on the two systems is also studied to prove their robustness.
