Evaluation of some phermone methods for controlling the peach fruit fly, Bactrocera Zonata (Saunders)‎ (Tephritidae : Diptera)‎, on two crops in Fayoum governorate

Efficiency of two methods, male mass trapping (M.M.T.) and partial bait spray plus killing bags (P.B.S.) were evaluated for control of the peach fruit fly, Bactrocera zonata by using Jackson and McPhail traps.

Reduction percentages on mango fruits were 84.94 and 63.81% for the two methods, respectively as evaluated by Jackson trap.

While by using McPhail traps reduction was 55.95 and 35.04%, for two methods respectively, with significant difference compared with the control treatment.

Means of fruit infestation reduction percentages were 61.59 and 49.63%, respectively, with insignificant differences.

On navel orange fruits, the means of population reduction percentages of the two method evaluated by Jackson trap were 52.30 and 24.04%.

The mean of infestation reduction percentages were 46.15 and 33.66%, respectively, with significant differences.
