Monthly and seasonal variation of ozone over the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and surrounding area

From TOMS satellites, a full time data set was used over the period 1978 to 2006 to study the monthly and seasonally variation of ozone over Gulf area and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

The results show permanent cut-off low of ozone on south-west of domain study, temporary wave on the interior land (between Red sea and Arabian Gulf), and permanent wave over Red Sea and Arabian Gulf areas.

Short wave is found imbedded on mean months average affected by synoptic dynamic of the area, such as the monsoon on summer, the Mediterranean feature in winter, and Red Sea trough in transition seasons.
