Effect of saline irrigation water on pods and seeds production of broadbeans (Vicia faba L.)‎

The effect of three different levels of saline irrigation water (2.1, 4.0 and 0.9 ds / m) was evaluated on broadbeans (Vicia faba L) grown on sandy soil.

Salinity had a significant adverse effect on the biomass yield of plants, where it was significantly lower (1982 g) under the higher saline irrigation water (4.0 dS / m) compared with those at the 2.1 ds / m saline water (2016 g / tank) and control (2775 G / tank).

The weight of pods per plant and weight of grains per pod were significantly higher (85.8 and 7.8 g, respectively) at the lower saline irrigation water (2.1 dS / m).
