Teaching skills needed for English teachers at the preparatory schools

The present research aimed at investigating the skills of teaching English for preparatory school students from the teacher’s point of view.

The population is limited to English teachers in the preparatory schools in the city of Mosul for the academic year 2005-2006.

A sample of (68) subjects has been chosen randomly from the population.

The researcher prepared a questioner of (61) item distributed among (9) domains representing teaching acts in the field of English.

The researcher arrived at restricting some essential skills from the teacher’s perspective.

In the light of the findings, the researcher gave some recommendation.
