Causes and remedies of bearing failure in SUDANESE industrys

Bearing failure, in industrial applications, has a great impact on Sudan industry and economy.

The aim of the present work is to study and spot root sources which limit bearings efficiency and then leading to bearings failure.

This statistical investigation was carried out on 200 samples collected from many industries in Sudan.

A visual investigation method and comparison with standards were used to achieve the aim.

Results show that the main failure cause of rolling elements bearings is normal wear at the end of life time with percentage of 35.

5 % and lubrication failure for sliding bearings with percentage of 47.

5 %.

Remedies for such causes are suggested.
