الملخص EN

The study evaluated the seroprevalence of Toxoplasma gondii in domestic camels in Western and Southern regions of Central province of Saudi Arabia.

In total, 713 serum samples from clinically healthy camels were analyzed for anti–T.

gondii antibodies using the Latex agglutination test (LAT).

Antibodies to T.

gondii were found in 94 (13.1 %) camels.

The number of seropositive in Al-Quwayiyah region 16.9 % was considerably higher than in other regions.

However, the differences in seroprevalence between the 4 regions were not statistically significant (P > 0.05).

These results indicate that T.

gondii antibodies are widespread in the camel populations and suggest that toxoplasmosis is a widely spread zoonotic infection this region.
