الملخص الإنجليزي

This thesis aims at : identifying the errors made by EFL Sudanese secondary school students of third level in writing composition, classifying these problems in any possible way, analyzing them and after that suggesting procedures that could help students avoid facing these problems.

The study adopted a descriptive analytical method. Consequently, the data has been collected an calculated through a number of statistical procedures.

The sample consisted of 50 English teachers of Sudanese secondary school and 50 Sudanese 3rd level secondary students in Khartoum State (Bahri Locality).

The tools of the data collection were a questionnaire for the English teachers and a test for the students.

The tools proved to be valid and reliable. The study revealed that Sudanese 3rd level secondary students have a lot of errors in writing and they have negative attitudes towards it.

And also, the English teachers do not have enough materials to improve the writing activities to their students.

Accordingly, recommendations were stated and suggestions for further studies were made. Finally, the researcher has noticed that the overall performance of students in writing English is just below average.
