الملخص الإنجليزي

This research study Sudan crude oil production from THAR JATH oil field whereas complying with the design standard in the major of water separation during the oil processing phase.

Data was collected from THAR JATH oil fields by monitoring free water knock out tank (FWKOT) interface level, Basic sediment and water (BS&W) analysis, temperature and pressure.

The FWKO top level is almost stable with relevant variation of the interface level.

The water level builds up into the FWKO followed by considerable drop down in the water level in FWKO, It indicates that the water was washed out to the water treatment system and there was no records for its quantities which lead to some difference in water production calculation.

Physical and chemical parameters of crude oil and water were determined using standard test methods. During the period of the research, the oil Basic sediment and water average was (0.3 %), which means that it is acceptable in comparing with value (0.5 %) as plant export design.

A significant relation between design temperate and operation temperature is noted.

Production operation should stick to design temperature to increase the efficiency of the water separation.

There is some quantities of emulsion oil was recycled back to the FWKOT from the crude oil separator (COS) to increase the tank temperature and there was no gauge to measured it exactly as it should be.

In fact, that there some uncalculated loads added to the central processing facility (CPF) from the vacuum trucks.

These loads should be measured and analyzed (oil in water-water in oil).

also, the oily water which recycled from the induce gas flotation (IGF) to FWKO should be calculated, tested and the temperature for both quantities should be considered. Installation of sample point and temperature and pressure gauge before each free water knock out tanks will increase its efficiency, through adopting the crude oil in let required temperature, pressure and to determined the inlet basic sediment and water to be compare with outlet one .
