The role of amino acids and transition metals complexes in human hair

الملخص الإنجليزي

This study presents the results of extraction of black pigments from human hair, samples were some child their ages between 4-11 year that compared with bleaching hair of old man, AAS was used for determination of concentration of element (Mg, Fe, Co, Cu, Zn, Ca, Ni, Pb and Cd).

Some solvents (polar, non polarity) were used for extracting of the black pigment from black hair, but it was not extract that means that extract contain the pigment, so, it was not coating the hair, but the black pigment was extracted by addition of Hydrogen peroxide of some concentration, (0.5, 1, 1.5 % V / V) But after addition of Hydroquine it was returned to its original color (black), this operation explained the oxidation reduction, thus hydorquine serves as an un bleaching agent.

Solid complexes were synthesized through condensation of some ligands namely tyrosine, glycine, aspartic acid, arginine, tryptophan and glutamic acid) with some metals and transition one (Ca II, Mg II, Fe III, Fe II, Co II and Cu II).

The results reveal that the change of solvents and medium ; H2O, C2H5OH with different concentrations, and alkaline media (NaOH 5%W/V), probably effect the product with no color change.

The chemical equations were drawn to all complexes.

The synthesized prepared complexes were of some colors (white, brown, pale viotet pale blue and black), never the less the condensation of Arg with Fe(III) in aqueos media (H2 O) appeared the black color.

The free ligands and their complexes were subjected to characterization by using (IR, UV/Vis) and melting point as their free ligands.

The results shows that condensation reaction between carboxylic and amino groups with different metals.
