Velocity distribution over pronounced rough surfaces shows a deviation from log- law for small values of y.

In the case of duned bed, this distance may be 0.5 to 2 times the dune height.

The concept of additional mixing length was used to obtain a log- law which shows deviation in velocity from log- law near the bed and constants appearing in the equation were evaluated using experimental data from flume studies.
