الملخص الإنجليزي

This study is an attempt to present some of the principles and day to day practices to solution of drinking water supply systems problems The research focuses on Khartoum North Water Supply system including the Water resources (surface water treatment plants and boreholes) networks and all other facilities of the system The thesis describes the different components of the system, type and coverage of the services provided by the system.

The study presents analysis of the water supply system showing the performance of the of the treatment plants, boreholes and networks including the operation and maintenance philosophies, As a result of the analysis,the thesis highlights the problems and shortcomings of the whole system and proposes a number of recommendations for a better performance of the water supply facilities in the town.
