-The main objective of this study is to investigate the role of GIS in banking sector. This includes defining more precisely the catchments area, Finding the best locations for the installation of a new ATM to increase a bank market share, Monitoring ATM current cash ؛:low.

Cash Fleet Management for Cash distribution and Direct customers to the nearest ATM incase of enquiry from anywhere. To achieve these objectives Khartoum locality was selected as a study Area.

The geographic features in the study area have been model and digitized based on cadastral maps offered by Sudan national Survey Authority.

ArcGIS 9.3 was used to build a dynamic digital GIS model of the study area. Based on the needs of the banks sector the model was subjected to various spatial and statistical analyses.

This includes customer location, Area population Density, competitor ATM and branches location, Market Area. The study shows that GIS is a powerful tool for modeling, analyzing and supporting decision making in the bank sector.

This is true where GIS helped banking sector to find the best location for installing a new ATM, making their operations more efficient at lost and les time and lead the banks to lead in the market.
