Group-transfer polymerization of 2-ethylhexyl methacrylate with methacrylic acid

Group-transfer polymerization of an idustrially important 2-ethylhexy1 methacrylate with low fraction of methacrylic acid was investigated.

The hompopolymer of the former and their random and block copolymer of 2-ethylhexy1 methacrylate/methacrylic acid were fully characterized using different spectroscopic and analytical techniques.

It was found that the 2-ethlhexy1 , monomer behaves differently from other alky1 methacrylates expecially in preparing block copolymer.
