The study discussed historical of English language teaching in Sudan, and the English language syllabus before spine.

An Introdution of spine senses, and Book "5" feature and contents, morover to show the reduction in time allotted for English language and the new education ladder (1970 - 1995).

The methodology of this study is desoriptive method.

So the objectives are to snggest ample time for Covering the textsBook.

And to explore the real factors bhind the student's weak performance.

In order to help students to develop efficient language skills.

The nain findings of the study are redundancy of spine "5" leads to shortage in time for finishing it.

Due to spine "5 "over load vocabulary student acquisition was very weak.

The described period of time was not enough for practicing the four language skills properly.Recommendation: The time which is devoted for teaching English shoud be doubled "eight" periods instead of "four".

Those who teach spine"5" shoud be competent teachers .
