DNA fingerprinting and protein types of Humaidh (Rumex vesicarius L.)‎

Fingerprinting of Humaidh (Rumex vesicarius L.) DNA was conducted using Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) method.

Ten primers were used for the amplification reactions, eight of them gave patterns specific for Humaidh.

Protein types of different organs of Humaidh were compared by SDS polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis during autumn, winter and spring.

The results showed that protein banding patterns varied from organ to organ and varied within the same organ at different stages of development.

There were some qualitative and some quantitative differences in banding patterns of certain proteins, but the majority of the bands revealed a constant intensity level throughout development.
