Influence of altitude on the distribution of the plant formation along al-Bahah al-Aqieq road, on the east facing slopes

The present ecological and phytosociological study is carried out to investigate the vegetation condition on the east facing slopes of Al-Bahah region.

Hills and wadies between Al-Bahah city and Al-Aqieq town, that stretch along the east facing slopes were investigated.

About 150 plant species were recorded.

Some of these plant species are endangered, while others represent some distant provinces, the Eritreo Arabian; the Mediterranean and the Irano Turanian regions, are also represented.

The impact in the east facing slopes on the type and density of the vegetation cover was apparent, among which the negative effects of man were and are still the major threat.
