The emergence of agitation and suicide ideation secondary to the use of fluoxetine therapy : a case report

Fluoxetine is a commonly used drug for the treatment of major depression.

Its use can be associated with undesirable side effects of suicidal ideation, akathisia, and/or agitation.

If these side effects are not appreciated and recognized, then they can lead to errors in ongoing diagnoses or management including non-compliance This case represents another addition to the incidence of occurrence of agitation with fluoxetine with a clear temporal relation and disappearance after discontinuation
