الملخص EN

This study indicated that folic acid may be absorbed directly by the gingival tissues upon rinsing with folic acid solution.

Subsequently on day 0 and 30 of double blind study, 2 groups of 13 subjects each were evaluated by means of a gingival index, bleeding index and blood folic acid levels.

Subject rinsed their mouth twice daily for 3 mints in 30 days.

Results of the study seem to indicate that folic acid absorbed by the gingiva from an oral rinse may reverse a hypothesized local deficiency of the vitamin within the gingiva and thus lead to a reduction of gingival inflammation by increasing host resistance to local etiological factor
