الملخص الإنجليزي

The subject of this thesis is to formulate life tables for Sudan northern states by applying the direct &indirect methods, in addition to a mathematical model which is applied so as to improve the mortality expectation & the indicators deduced from the data of the last two censuses (1983-1993). This study is primarily composed of two parts : The first part is largely concerned with demographic analysis which includes : The life tables, the model life tables, the indicators of life tables are determined to reflect the comparative health conditions & socio-economic status. The second part is concerned with the statistical analysis, which includes : The regression is used as an estimation method, a computer programme is designed by the researcher in order to analyze demographic data, using regression model applying linear transformation .in addition to a composite model, which consists of two regression models linked with an algebraic process, found to be useful forecasting application in demography as well as in many scientific fields.
