Egyptian coastal regions development through economic diversity for its coastal cities

The Egyptiancoastalcitieshaveseveraldifferentnaturalpotentialswhichcouldmake them promisingeconomiccitiesandattractmanyinvestorsaswellastourists.Inrecentyears,there has beenagrowingawarenessofexistingandpotentialcoastalproblemsinEgypt.Thisawareness has becomemanifestindevelopmentpoliciesforEgyptiancoastswhichfocusedonlyonthedevel- opment ofbeachesbybuildingprivatetouristvillages.Thesedevelopmentsnegativelyaffectedthe regional developmentandtheenvironment.

This studyexaminesthestructureofthecoastalcitiesindustry,themaintypes,theimpacts(eco- nomic,environmental,andsocial)ofcoastalcities,andthelocaltrendsindevelopmentintheEgyptian coastal citiesanditsregions.Itwillalsoanalyzecoastalandmarinetourisminseveralkeyregions identified becauseofthediversityoflifetheysupport,andthepotentialdestructiontheycouldface.

This paperconfirmsthateconomicdiversificationincoastalcitiesismoreeffectivethandevelop- ments inonlyoneeconomicsector,evenifthissectorisprominentandimportant.
