الملخص EN

An empirical formula for the propagation loss in Jordan and similar areas is obtained.

This model is derived similarly to Hata's model.

A field study is used to determine different factors in the model.

The model predicts the propagation path loss in the 900MHz band within a good error margin for regions with a texture similar to what we have in Jordan.

Three different areas were selected that describe the different relief in Jordan.

Our model averages the effect of the receiver antenna height on the received power and the result is taken as the empirical formula for the path loss.

Results showed that the error margin is reduced when using our model by comparison with Hata’s model, for example in Amman area, we have 1.53 dB mean square error whereas it is 5 dB with Hata’s model.
