This study aims at proposing a mental health syllabus outline for the tenth grade students, through specifying general objectives, content, and the required time for its teaching, from the teachers and students points of view in school districts within the govemerate of the capital.

Specifically, the study tries to answer the following questions: 1.

What is the teachers' and students’ points of view as to the general oojectives of the proposed mental health syllabus? 2.

What is the teachers’ and students’ points of view as to the proposed content of mental health syllabus? 3.What is the teachers’ and students’ points of view as to the required time to teach such a proposed course of study? The study consisted of a stratified randomly selected sample from among 1268 students and 276 teachers distributed at 14 schools within the three districts.

The questionnaire was distributed amongst the sample after its validity and reliability were determined.

The findings of the study showed that: 1.

The students and their teachers approved the teaching of the proposed syllabus in relation to its objectives and content to tenth grade students.

2.

The proposed syllabus was suggested to be taught for the tenth grade students for two semesters, at the rate of three periods per week, for forty-five minutes each.

3.

It is hoped that the educational authorities at the Ministry' of Education would consider the adoption of the proposed syllabus in their schools.
