The present work contributes to the survey of the sexual cycle of Gambusia affinis, a small Poeciliidae fish of the soft water and predatory of mosquito larvae.
Thanks to a monthly sampling to the level of the Kherraza river (about 8 Kms to the west of Annaba), we have determined the sexual activity period, this one spreads of the month offebruary to the month of September, whereas the one of rest spreads of the month of october until the month ofJanuary.
The morphology of the ovary' and the different stages uf the ovogenesis (4 stages), have been defined from histoligical observations.
On the other hand, the numbering of oocyteses to different stages of maturation, permitted us to distinguish the predominance of oocytes to the I stage during the period of the sexual rest, while oocytes from the fourth stages are present in ovaries in sexual activity1 period.
الملخص FRE
Le présent travail contribue à l’étude du cycle sexuel de Gambusia affinis, un poisson Poeciliidae des eaux douces et prédateur les larves de moustiques.
Grâce à un échantillonnage mensuel au niveau de l'oued Kherraza (environ 8 Km à /’Ouest de la ville de Annaba), nous avons pu déterminer la période d’activité sexuelle, celle-ci s’étale du mois de février au.
mois de septembre, alors que celle du repos s ’étend du mois d’octobre jusqu’au mois de janvier.
La morphologie de l’ovaire et les différents stades de l ’ovogenèse (4 stades), ont été définis à partir d’observations h istologiques.
D’autre part, le dénombrement des ovocytes à différents stades de maturation, nous a permis de distinguer la prédominance des ovocytes du stade 1 pendant la période du repos sexuel, tandis que les ovocytes du stade IV sont prédominants dans tes ovaires en période d'activité sexuelle.
