Supernumerary kidney : a case report

Supernumerary kidney is a rare congenital urogenital anomaly.

It usually presents with non-specific clinical signs and symptoms that may cause a diagnostic problem.

Computerized tomography and ultrasonography are considered the diagnostic modalities of choice.

We describe a case of supernumerary kidney in a female.

The diagnostic approach and treatment are also considered.

Objective : To present a case of supernumerary kidney in a Bahraini with review of the literature and to present the clinical features, investigations and surgical management.

Introduction Supernumerary kidney is a rare congenital urogenital anomaly with less than 100 cases reported in the English medical literature.

The incidence is unknown but it affects both sox equally with slight left side predominance.

We would like to report a case of Bahraini lady with such condition.
