الملخص الإنجليزي

The determination of heavy Metals is considered important and very useful to know the environmental pollution that affect of Human health which encourage us to perform this study.

This study was carried out in the Almawrada Fish market , Omdurman City.

In this study 50 sample were tested 20 of them were collected from muscle of 8 fish species and total of 20 blood samples were randomly collected from workers and compared with 10 un workers blood samples (as control).

Samples were analyzed by graphite furnace–atomic absorption spectrophotometer (GF- AAS-6800), the result of Lead concentration of fish muscle were (0.1 to 96.4 µg / kg) is well below the USA and Canada, acceptable limit of 500 µg kg-1 respectively.

The results also showed that the blood samples Lead levels ranged between (0.48 to 17.37) µg / dl and comparison sample Control, which ranged between (0.56 to 13.27) µg / dl where there is no a big difference between them and do not exceed the maximum to the level of Lead, which is equivalent to (7 to 22) µg / dl allowed by National Institute of Occupational and Safety Health (USA, 1994).

The results of statistical analysis that there is no affect of lead on fish workers, despite the existence of high concentrations in a certain number of fish but less than the limit allowed by the United States and Canada, this is attributable due to the exposure of this segment of dead fish as a result of contamination of the Nile water environmental contaminants resulting from washing vehicles on the along the Nile and water erosion Industrial Zone and sanitation to the Nile these is dangerous for Consumers of fish, which requires strict measures are taken and deterrent to prevent the pumping of these environmental pollutants from Sources and the development of a national program to monitor these contaminants in water and fish.
