The market response to the interim financial reports publication

This paper has investigated the information content of interim financial reports by examining how prices react upon their release.

To accomplish this study the event study approach is implemented.

The access return around the announcement data is calculated by using the market model bench mark.

Daily share prices data for a sample of 32 firins listed in Amman financial Market (AFM), having 51 announcements is used in the analysis.

The result of this study suggests that the interim reports contain a substantial amount of valuable inforin ation.

the market participants in AFM utilize the information included in such reports in making their Investlnent dicisions)
