الملخص EN

A new technique has been developed to remove ink particles during waste newspaper recycling process.

The technique is based on using hydrophobic plastic particles such as polyethylene particles.

Hie efficiency of this technique was tested by comparting the brightness of recycled paper with that of clean imprinted paper.

The reults of brightness and microscopic observation showed that nearly all the ink particles are removed.

This technique has several advantages over flotation: it has higher ink removal efficiency since plastic particles are capable of removing ink particles of all sizes.

Moreover, no fiber losses occur using this technique and lower equipment cost is possible since it permits elimination of the washing and the floation units.

Also using plastic particles is environmentally safe since it can be easily separated and recycled.
