Solvent effects on protons chemical shifts of five differently substituted a,N-diarylnitrones have been obtained.

Correlation analysis were carried out using Koppl-Palm and Kamlet-Taft multi parameters equation.

Solvent basicity and acidity parameters were the predominant terms affecting the protons chemical shifts.
