Synthesis and characterization of some dioxadiazoles and their methyl and ethyl thio-ethers

Bis [2-2-(5-mercapto -1,3,4-oxadiazole)]-1,4-butane (3a) and Bis [2-2-(5 mercapto -1,3,4- oxadiazole)] -1,8- octane (3b) were synthesized from adipic and sebacic acids respectively.

The methyl and ethyl thio-ethers of compounds (3a) and (3b) were also synthesized, their characterization was carried out from their IR, mass spectra, (C,H,N)- analysis and H-NMR spectra data.
