Preparation of some new complexes of Zr(IV)‎ and CD(II)‎ with cinchophen derivatives

Complexes of Zr(IV) and Cd(II) substituted 2-phenyl cinchoninic acid have been developed.

The synthesis is based on the reaction of Zr(NC>3)4.

6H2O and Cd(NC>3)2.

4H2O with the cinchophen derivatives in absolute ethanol.

The resulting complexes are assigned on the basis of elemental analysis, molar conductance values and infrared spectral data.

Complexes of the type [Zr(L)3 (H20)3] (N03)4 and [Cd(L)2 (H20)2] (N03)2 (where L is a substituted cinchophen ligands) have been proposed.

The ligands in these complexes behave as monodentate.
