In the Arab Republic of Egypt, effor ts have been mad e to improve th e productivity of wood to meet the great yea rly needs.

Th e ide ntification of any useful by-produces will enhance the chance for th e success ful commerce of th e wood production , In addition , th er e has be en an acute shor tage of oils and fat s, especially during the last IS years .

Th is situa tion led to a sea rch for o ther so urces of oil as seeds of a large numbe r of co mmonly grown vegetables, fruits and wild plants , th at have been scree ned for their oil content.
