Estimation of radon concentrations inside houses in some Jordanian regions

To measure radon gas concentrations inside houses, passive integrated dosimeters contining CR-39 track detectors have been prepared and distributed in dwellings in several Jordanian regions with diferent geographical locations characterized by various climatological conditions.

It was found that most of the studied zones have the same low radon activity levels (lower than 50 Bq/m3).

But few zones (Alia, Xaser and Highway) were found to have higher values (higher than 55 Bq/m3 .

The Rn-222con-centrations obtained froin this study range from 6.59 to61.36 Bq/ni'.

Considering all regions, the average Rn-222 activity was found to be 25.33 Bcj/m3.
