The respiratory rate of the fourth instar larvae of the confused flour beetles Tribolium confusum Jaquelin duVal and the red flour beetles Tribolium casteneum (Herbst), was found to increase by increasing temperature and it reached a maximum of 4.9948 and 5.7882 (iLO^mg fresh weight/hr respectively at 45°C in both larvae.

At 50°C there is a decrease in the respiratory rate as it was found to be 4.0213 and 3.1656 nXCymg/hr respectively.
