الملخص الإنجليزي

This study aimed to investigate the role of small businesses in developing the local community of al-Karak Governorate, To achieve the objectives of this study, a questionnaire was developed for data collection.

The sample was composed of (232) Subjects, the number of valid questionnaires for analysis was (221), and the SPSS Package of Version (16) was used to analyze the data.

The most important findings of this study were the following : 1.

The perceptions of respondents toward small businesses and developing the local community were at a medium level.

2.

There is an impact of small businesses in developing the local community of al-Karak Governorate, which explains (81.5 %) of variation in the dependent variable (developing the local community).

The study presented a number of recommendation ,the most important were, the distribution and enhancement of a Entrepreneurship Culture in the community, also making the process of getting the needed support and financial loans to start and improve small businesses is emphasized in the findings, the importance of empowering the rule of woman in businesses by training and support her as well as make it easy for her to market the products is also emphazied, as well as, it's recommended to support the productive environment through improving the economic Legislation which in return enhance the apportunity of succesfull businesses, also reforming the governmental training centers to adapt with continous change in community and market needs.
