الملخص الإنجليزي

Near Field Communication (NFC) and mobile payments (m-payments) have been receiving a significant amount of attention lately.

NFC is a wireless communication technology already available on vast number of mobile phones.

Mobile Payments are one of the popular methods that use mobile phones to pay for goods, services and even for peer to peer payments.

Mobile payment is a service whose usage is expected to grow at a significant rate in the coming years to replace traditional payment methods.

Mobile payment applications are depending on different technologies like Short Message Services (SMS), Wireless Fidelity (WIFI), Quick Response code (QR), NFC and others, but NFC is thought to be the technology that will bring mobile payments to the masses.

In this thesis, a new NFC peer to peer mobile payment protocol has been presented.

It possesses several desirable security characteristics, such as: confidentiality, integrity, anonymity, accountability, and good usability characteristics, such as: one touch protocol, no special hardware required, and support both micro and macro payments.

We evaluate our protocol in three ways: first, we evaluate our protocol against the most common security attributes (such as confidentiality, integrity, anonymity, and others), on the other hand, we evaluate the protocol against the most common NFC attacks (such as MITM, Eavesdropping, and others), finally, we made a comparative study between the security and usability factors in our protocol and four NFC mobile payment applications.
