الملخص الإنجليزي

This study aims to investigate the structural, optical and electrical properties of cadmium sulfide (CdS) thin films prepared by a locally built closed space sublimation (CSS) system.

The deposition parameters were chosen to achieve hard, transparent and comparatively smooth films.

The deposited films were immersed in AgNO3-H2O solution.

The AgNO3 solution concentration was fixed for all films.

The doping temperature was fixed at room temperature (RT).

The immersion time was changed, for different films, to study the Ag doping effects on composition, electrical and optical properties of the films. The composition of the films were studied by energy dispersive technique (EDX).

The optical transmittances were recorded a UV-VIS-NIR spectrophotometer (Perkin-Elmer Lambda-950) with UV-Win Lab software with wavelength 400-2500 nm.

The dark direct current (DC) resistivity was measured by tow probe method at RT temperature. The films resistivity decrease as the immersion duration in AgNO3-H2O solution increased.
