الملخص الإنجليزي

This study presents analysis point views on fifteen quality audit reports published by the Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA).

Each report documents the findings of a Quality Audit (QA) done by a panel.

The report comments on HEI’s mission and vision, the appropriateness and effectiveness of its systems for achieving its goals.

The goal of this audit is to provide a level of assurance to the public about the quality of the HEI’s activities and constructive feedback to the HEI to assist with its ongoing improvement efforts.

The paper presents an introduction about the OAAA, portfolio of the HEIs, QA and accreditation stages.

It will concentrate on the analysis of Governance and Management section of the 15 HEIs.

This study compares the findings and quality of the portfolios of the HEIs in several aspects and key performance indicators.

The paper will present what were the commendations, affirmations, and recommendations written in the reports with what were the major positive practices and what were the major concerns as seen by the panels.

The paper suggests some recommendations to HEIs on key areas like organizational structure, strategic plan, operational plans, KPIs, risk identification and monitoring processes, policies and procedures, data collection and affiliate involvement.
